Governor Kotek Visits Spark at Booth-Kelly

On Thursday, December 14, we had some special visitors! Governor Tina Kotek and First Lady Aimee Kotek Wilson toured Spark at Booth-Kelly as part of Governor Kotek’s One Oregon Listening Tour! Koteck met with program youth, staff, and local leaders to learn about barriers youth in our community face.

Our director, Heidi Larwick, shared a recap of our year and what’s to come, and the youth talked about their experiences and plans for their future.

“Over the last year, Connected Lane County has received tremendous support for programs and services, allowing for the expansion of Spark at Booth-Kelly and the launch of our three excelerators. These additional efforts will allow young people in our community to build their skills and realize their potential. We couldn’t be more proud of the youth who shared their stories and highlighted ways the Governor can ensure their peers can access the programs and get the support they need to learn and grow.”

We’re so proud of our youth, program mentors, staff, and partners for coming together to create an amazing resource for youth in our community! We’re so excited to see how our programs continue to grow.

Thank you, Tina Kotek and First Lady Aimee Kotek Wilson, Senator John Lively, Commissioner David Loveall, Mayor Sean VanGordon, Springfield City Manager Nancy Newton, Springfield Public Schools Superintendent Todd Hamilton, and Lane Workforce Partnership Executive Director Ashely Espinosa!

Our team was honored to be the last stop on Govorner Koteks’s tour. To learn more about the One Oregon Listening Tour, check out this article from KPIC.
