About the Position

Hourly Rate: Starting at $25 per hour
0.75 FTE

The Tech Specialist at Connected Lane County manages all IT operations. This includes configuring and maintaining onsite networks, managing technology solutions, and ensuring that all devices—including computers, tablets, and printers—are properly set up and maintained. The role also involves resolving IT support issues and overseeing website and application updates.

We are seeking a diligent, self-motivated individual who is passionate about our mission and technology. The ideal candidate has a strong technical aptitude, excellent communication and time management skills, and an eye for detail. They must work well within a cross-functional team and demonstrate proactive problem-solving abilities.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Configure, monitor and maintain onsite networks (laptops, desktops, iPads, printers) for Connected Lane County.
  • Support daily operations of the computer network, ensuring minimal downtime and smooth functionality.
  • Develop and deploy updates for web applications.
  • Provide technical support for various devices, including laptops, desktops, iPads, iPhones, printers, and Spark equipment.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures for technology management.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing department to manage the website's technical aspects, including content updates, security management, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage and support Google Workspace for the organization.
  • Assist in website management as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in various computer hardware and software technologies.
  • Knowledge of Google Cloud Console, Firebase, and JavaScript-based technologies (e.g., React Native) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with deploying, maintaining, and repairing Windows systems is required; experience with system imaging is preferred.
  • Proficiency in setting up and maintaining networking equipment (routers, switches, file servers).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort and experience with Google Workspace.
  • Experience with WordPress and familiarity with HTML is preferred.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal staff and youth.
  • A valid Oregon driver’s license or the ability to obtain one by the hire date.
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check. 

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in technology operations.
  • A combination of relevant experience and education/training will be considered.
