Meet Kira, our August youth highlight!

Kira, a Cottage Grove High School graduate, found Connected Lane County during her senior year and has been involved in both Navigate and Elevate programming! Kira has participated in various events, including Wonder Wednesday, Job Fairs, Elevate Job Shadows, Wonder Week, and work experiences.  

“I’ve always had great fun at these events. I got to meet new people and learn about things I haven’t known before that may help in the future,” said Kira.

According to Kira’s Resource Navigator, “Kira, a Cottage Grove High School graduate, joined Connected Lane County’s Navigate program without any prior work experience. With enthusiasm and dedication, she dove into our programs, participating in Wonder Wednesdays and our second annual Wonder Week. Her first Work Experience at the Cottage Grove Library helped her develop essential skills. 

Currently, Kira is gaining valuable experience at Delight Magic and Games in Cottage Grove, aligning with her goal to work in the game industry and retail. Over her time with Navigate, Kira has made remarkable strides in her confidence and skill set,” said Olivia. 

Kira hopes to become a voice actress and work with anime or game companies. “I wanna be up there with my favorite VAs like Amanda Lee or Alejandro Saab,” said Kira.
