Natural Resources Park Aide
SALARY: $14.27 Hourly

JOB DESCRIPTION:
General Statement Of Duties: Performs manual and unskilled labor in the cleaning and maintenance of park grounds, natural areas, and facilities; does job-related work as required.

Distinguishing Features Of The Class: An employee in this classification performs unskilled labor and does not operate heavy equipment. Work is performed under the supervision of a Park Services Program Manager, although the incumbent may perform work under the lead of other Park Services staff. Supervision is not normally a responsibility of positions in this classification.EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES PERFORMED:

Provide maintenance and survey assistance in natural areas with Natural Resource staff.
Prepare and maintain native plantings or related natural resource project work sites.
Perform general park maintenance, which includes hand mowing, edging, weeding, mulching, and hedge trimming.
Perform brush, garbage, debris and litter removal from park grounds and parking lots.
Assist in minor maintenance and repair of park facilities and site amenities.
Provide assistance in irrigation maintenance and repair, including digging trenches and repairing irrigation components.
Prepare and maintain vegetation along paths and trails.
May assist in setting up and taking down large portable stage, including moving heavy floor extensions, setting up a sound and lighting system for seasonal events.
Report citizen concerns; report any unusual park condition or safety issues to supervisor.
