Role Overview: The Sewing Machine Operator assembles a variety of parts and products using sewing equipment/machines for CrewBoss. They measure, align and sew parts and assemblies to predetermined specifications and drawings. The Sewing Machine Operator is responsible for properly constructing each item assigned in a timely manner. The production environment is fast paced and requires a high attention to detail. This position reports to the CrewBoss Production Supervisor.


  • Safely operate all equipment.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Assure that all products are built to the highest standard of quality.
  • Construct assigned items/item components properly, following a combination of printed work instructions, integral samples and verbal instructions from the supervisor.
  • Inspect in-process materials to ensure proper cut and shade compatibility.
  • Verify that all materials are void of material flaws.
  • Maintain quality objectives and standards for the department.
  • Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Keep workplace clean, tidy and in good condition.
  • Return all tools and equipment to their designated spot after each use.
  • Regularly inspect, clean equipment, notify supervisor and/or facilities maintenance immediately of machines or equipment needing repair or maintenance, and take any damaged or worn tools out of service.
  • Assist in the training of new employees, as needed.
  • Follow correct ISO procedures, including lot number tracking where applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift/ move a minimum of 25 pounds of material without assistance.
Ability to sit, bend or stand for long periods of time
Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One-year work experience, preferably in manufacturing
  • Basic sewing knowledge preferred
