An opportunity to be part of a uniquely Eugene institution. Surata Soyfoods has been manufacturing certified organic, sustainable food products for over 44 years. We now have openings for workers to participate in the creation of the nations best Tofu and Tempeh.

Position Starts at $16.00. ($17 for early morning hours if available). Raises are automatically given based on hours worked, with merit raises when applicable. 5 days paid vacation per year, bi annual bonuses, medical and dental offered if position becomes full time.

About 30+ hours per week, with the potential to become full time. Shifts are Monday, Wednesday and Friday that begin in the morning at 8:30 and continue until around 2:30 or 3:30 PM. Tuesday and Thursday shift starts around 10:30 AM and continues until 3:30 or 4:00 PM.

Ability to work independently and attention to detail is important. Some repetitive work involved. Ability to work with steam and hot water. This is steamy.

The position is for the production of Tempeh. Tempeh is cooked on Tuesdays and Thursdays by cooking soybeans in a large cauldron of boiling water. The handling of the hot soybeans is throughout the shift. It is somewhat physical.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the tempeh is processed in an autoclave, (steam pressure cabinet), as well as packaging preparation. This position also uses heat for processing.
