This position will potentially interact with all processes in production. This involves operating product fillers, CIP systems, batching/mixing of products, and supporting production lines in case packing and palletizing. The position is expected to learn all aspects of Springfield Creamery. There is expectation that once this position has learned all production aspects of Springfield Creamery, that they will be utilized to help troubleshoot, fill in, identify potential improvements, and help ensure that we are manufacturing safe quality food. Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills and new positions is a must.

NECESSARY SKILLS, ABILITIES AND AMBITIONS:

  • Knowledge of food safety requirements
  • Familiarity with food manufacturing practices
  • Excellent communication skills; able to relay information clearly, receive information openly and follow up in a timely manner
  • A hands-on, self-starter who works well in a team setting
  • A desire to learn new skills and take on new tasks
  • Follow established programs, policies, GMP’s and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of our Food
  • Safety plan and respective certifications.
  • Basic understanding of food manufacturing equipment

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1-2 years experience in food industry

COMPENSATION: $18.50/hour

Paid vacation (accrued on a hourly basis). 1 week paid vacation after 1 year of employment 2 weeks paid per year after 3 years 3 weeks paid per year after 7 years. Paid Holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas. Sick pay: Accrue 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, up to 40 hours per year. You can carry-over 40 hours from one year to the next. May use sick time for any permissible purpose under Oregon’s Sick Leave Law. Sick leave is not payable upon termination of your employment.

Scope of Position:

This position is Monday-Friday, starting 6:00pm and ending around 2:00am. Some necessity for extended hours is a possibility. Weekend hours are rare.
