Graphic Designer & Marketing Assistant

About this Position

Salary Range: Starting at $45,000

The Graphic Designer works closely with the Connected Lane County marketing team to support the implementation of marketing plans and strategies. Primary duties include creating digital graphics, logos, brochures, flyers, posters, signage, annual reports, and many other materials to communicate ideas and information visually. This position will also support the marketing team with administrative duties.

  • Maintain content consistency, adhering to brand and style guidelines. 
  • Develop marketing collateral and content such as newsletters, website assets, annual reports, etc. 
  • Assist in website management including updating and creating content, and adhering to SEO standards.
  • Input marketing and fundraising data into CRM/Donor Management Software. 
  • Simplify complex data into a user-friendly format such as graphs, charts, and other visual aids.
  • Support community fundraising activities and program events. 
  • Manage print contractors and other promotional vendors.
  • Event and program photography and videography. 
  • Prepare the marketing team board report.
  • Research industry innovations and tools.
  • Assist in managing projects and events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field preferred.
  • Must have at least one year of experience in a graphic design role.
  • A combination of experience and education/training may be considered. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Google Suite is required.
  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio and a strong eye for visual composition. 
  • Proficiency in designing for print and digital media is required. 
  • Proficiency with the WordPress CMS and familiarity with HTML preferred. 
  • Able to give and receive constructive criticism. 
  • Understanding of marketing, production, website design, brand identity, and multimedia design.
  • Photography and videography skills are preferred. 
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.  
  • Highly developed organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines are both required. 
  • Initiative and ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Ability to learn quickly, creatively problem-solve, and try new approaches. 
  • A valid Oregon driver’s license or ability to obtain one by the date of hire is required.
  • Spanish language skills are preferred.
