We're Hiring an Events and Data Assistant

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Event Support: Help plan, organize, and support community outreach events that boost youth engagement in STEM and work-based learning.
  • Data & Reporting: Manage data entry, track outreach activities, and compile reports to assess program impact.
  • Community Engagement: Collaborate with BIPOC-led organizations, schools, and other community partners to strengthen outreach efforts.
  • Content Creation: Work alongside the marketing team to learn and assist with creating social media posts, newsletters, and other outreach materials.
  • Administrative Tasks: Support team projects and communications, ensuring smooth program operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic understanding of event planning and community outreach.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage data entry and reporting tasks effectively.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop skills in social media content creation and marketing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with diverse audiences.
  • Commitment to equity and cultural responsiveness when working with youth and community partners.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team and work independently as needed.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) or a willingness to learn.
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for supporting youth-focused programs.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in event support or community outreach is required.
  • One year of experience or education in data collection and reporting is required.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new skills, particularly in social media and marketing.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfort working with diverse communities and a commitment to equity.
  • Basic proficiency with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
